![]() Since the Lab’s 2.0 Viewer did not have that extensive a modular design the Lab is working toward it. It will also allow third party developers like PH/FS to more easy build custom UI’s. Obviously this will make it easier to adapt the viewer to new technology. The goal is to have a render engine separate from the UI. The Lab has been working toward creating a more modular viewer. ![]() In this regard I think the PH/FS team may be ahead of the Lab. Obviously a UI the user can customize is desirable. Also, the more the UI is like the Lab’s the fewer changes the team has to maintain as the Lab advances their viewer. The UI for Firestorm needs to be very much like the Lab’s UI for those users. But, new Second Life users finding Firestorm are coming from Linden Lab’s version 2 viewer. They have users coming from version 1 viewers. The ConundrumĪs I see things the team had to make some interesting decisions about the Firestorm User Interface (UI). Having this flexibility built into Firestorm allows for a more pleasant migration experience. The underlying theme in the Migration Guide is to tweak the Version 2 viewer Interface to be more like the Version 1 Viewer Interface. It does link to a YouTube video: V1’ify Your Firestorm Experience! The video runs about 12 minutes. The article is short, by my thinking, just 750 words. I suspect one of the most over looked yet useful articles in the PH/FS Wiki is the Migration Guide. From what I see being asked in the PH/FS group and SL Forum I suspect many PH/FS users are unaware of the documentation to be found in the team’s PH/FS Wiki. Next up, let’s discuss the Bane (poison) relic. One of the impressive things about the Phoenix-Firestorm (PH/FS) team is the documentation they are creating for their viewers. Certain relic perks synergize well with some legendary items or the passives you’ve unlocked via the Legendarium.Relic passives are automatically enabled once you reach those levels. The final passive is unlocked at level 30.Two passive perks for the relic are unlocked at levels 10 and 15 respectively and they each have two upgradable boosts. There are also two upgradable perks solely related to this active skill. An additional active skill that can be hotkeyed is unlocked once your relic reaches level 5.The main ability only lasts for a short period and it has a lengthy cooldown. The relic’s main ability is unlocked by default and there are two upgradable perks related to it.These upgrades can reach up to rank 10 to provide additional boosts. Speaking of level-ups and upgrades, relics gain ranks via XP and each level-up confers a relic skill point. Note: You must unequip upgraded relics used by certain characters if you want them to become available for your alts. It’s possible for your alts to run around using maxed-out relics if need be. As for your alts, you won’t need to spend ember cores either, and the relics will retain the levels and progress you’ve had on your main character. If you want to switch to a relic you’ve already unlocked on that character, then you don’t need to worry since that won’t cost a thing. ![]() ![]() The ember cores themselves are common drops found when killing bosses in Torchlight III‘s regular areas as well as those in Mapworks Portals. You can only activate one relic at a time and unlocking a new one costs 24 ember cores. Accessing the Reliquary allows you to unlock and equip relics for your characters. You’ll then be directed to your fort to construct a Reliquary. In order to equip relics in Torchlight III, you must first complete a short tutorial quest where you’ll defeat a boss in the Fields of Unrest – The Chasm.
